Rough Collie

The Collie dog breed is of two types Rough and Smooth Collies, generally collies have the sweet personality, they are elegant and graceful, they are friendly with kids and other pets.

They are good watch dog but not aggressive. Collie is sensitive and intelligent dog breed. This great family companionship native is Scotland and northern England.

The Rough Collie is a long coated breed; they show no nervousness or aggression and generally do well with children. They should be socialized to get rid of shyness. Medium to large sized dogs are found. They are generally loyal and ability to trace her owner's need. They are used as a herding dog.

It is generally a healthy dog breed that needs less maintenance. There will be less hair falls under good maintenance. Grooming should be done regularly. It requires good care to keep healthy condition. A healthy diet, moderate exercise and regular veterinary care are required to keep them in good physique.

Rough Collie has several good characters including high sensitivity level, easily adaptable, moderate with hot weather and good in cold weather, more affectionate to family, easily trainable, potential for playfulness.

Their life span is about 12 - 15 years. They are found in variety of colours including sable, sable and white, sable merle, white merle, white, blue and white, blue merle and white.
